Milan Fashion Week - Fall 2012

Milan brought us a bit of darkness and light. We saw lots of black on the runways of Bottega Veneta, Emporio Armani and Emilio Pucci. Then Blumarine and DSquared2 did not disappoint, they both brought bright colors into the mix. We also can't go into fall without a few jewel tones. We saw ruby, purple and rich greens on the runways. It also seems as the designers are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel, as they each brought a few splashes of white into their collection. Also, look out for embellishments, such as embroidery and appliques, to be hot this Fall. They will be used primarily to accentuate curves. We got our first glimpse of that trend at the Oscars. We have one more fashion week, and I can't wait to see what Paris will close with. It is my favorite of the four! Stay tuned...

Oscar's Best Dressed

The Oscar's brought us simplicity, elegance and class. With the silent era film taking the Oscar for Best Film, it is no wonder that old Hollywood elegance was dominant on the Red Carpet. There were creams, sequins, and 20's silhouettes. There were also those who went with bold colors, a la Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton. Here are my pics for best dressed: Cameron Diaz in Gucci Premiere, Octavia Spencer in Tadashi Shoji, Milla Jovovich in Elie Saab Couture, Stacy Keibler in Marchesa, Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace, Ellie Kemper in Armani Prive, Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton, Penelope Cruz in Giorgio Armani, Jessica Chastain in Alexander McQueen, and Tina Fey in Carolina Herrera. London Fashion Week Fall RTW 2012

Hi there! Hope you all are loving what you see during these past two Fashion Weeks. It appears that London is also showing us some very bright, and very unexpected colors for the Fall. It is almost like Spring is hanging on to the coat tails of Fall. We are rarely seeing any pants for the ladies, with tailored skirts and coats worn with high boots or brightly colored heels. Do they not expect the Fall to be cold? Big hair was key at McQ and other shows. Fur vests and trims were mixed with textured patterns for a rich look. I would say a faux fur jacket would be an important piece to include in your Fall wardrobe, because the clothes alone will not cut it.

NYFW Fall 2012

Fashion lovers from all over the world wait with anticipation for the next few weeks! It is Fashion Week time, and we have seen what the Big Apple had to show us. It seems like bright colors will follow us from Spring into Fall with orange, reds, and yellows as the key colors. There will also be structure with menswear inspirations and belts to cinch in the waist. Also, don't say goodbye to prints as they too will be a big part of the fall. And finally, we saw a mixture of different textures worn together...from fur with leather, velvet with lace. Here are a few shots from different designers, courtesy of Elle.com
Stay tuned for a wrap-up of London's Fall Fashion Week!
